It is personal preference as Peter says. Try the one you like the best, then if you like another change over, no problem. I started off with red/blue. Then I went for all black. Came back to red/blue. Thereafter and now I have no doubt red/black is my favorite and I will have that always.

I have a 2003 all black model but swapped the bezel for a black read model a few months back.. it seemed a little strange at the time but do prefer it now as it tends not to get confused with the Sub or SD

I have the Red/Black combo, because I think it sets it apart for the Sub/SD. I have an SD already and they kind of look the same.
ALso as Padi mentioned, the Pepsi bezel, very unique....

Mine is black and I prefer it. However, when I think of the watch it seems to be the pepsi that defines it. I guess from watching the old Magnum shows.

Personnally I prefer the blue/red as I think that it is the clasic GMT look and it sets the watch apart from the SD/Sub. That said if the GMT was my only watch I would go with the black bezel as in my opinion it is a little smarter and can cope with a wider range of situations (smart suit through to t-shirt & shorts). In any event they all look good and as already said it is down to personal taste.

A bit of colour

I have the Pepsi, chosen because the red/blue was the original bezel colour for the PanAm pilots for whom the GMT was designed, and the blue/red colour arrangement defines the watch. Its also an unusual design in the Rolex line to see so much colour. As well, the two-tone provides an immediate visual cue to the day/night situation of the second time zone you're tracking.

The red is vibrant and transitions into the deep royal blue like a sunset fading into night, a clever and simple design that works. I had compared the red/blue and the black/burgundy side by side, and found that the red/blue smiled at me most. Also, I own a SD and figured that in addition to wanting a GMT for the second time zone feature, I wanted something that was visually more different than the SD.

That said, I would certainly consider black, since in my opinion, it makes the watch more colour versatile. The all black bezel also sets off the red GMT hand much better than the other coloured bezels do. The problem is finding a source of legitimate bezel parts.

All said, all three have their own distinctive character that set them apart from other Rolex designs, so enjoy what you have, a magnificent watch with a long and proven pedigree with a history of successful use across the world.

Mine is the red/black, because the all black looks like the Sub and the SD. But I´m going to buy a black one too, so I can change them whenever I want...

Rolex's new introductions move at the speed of a glacier. They very seldom discontinue existing models which are already selling by themselves.

The new models will be much more expensive and are designed for the fashion market rather than those who want a solid, tool, sports watch.

If so, folks will recall how inexpensive it is, a demand will be created, and the prices will shoot up!
