When/how do you use your "nicer" pens?
We all have our daily writers. Mine is a MB ballpoint that I have used for about 14-15 years every day. Most of us here have limited edition or more expensive fountain pens as well. I've been thinking about getting a new pen which would probably be one of the MB Writer's Editions or something along those lines and it started me thinking about when I would be using it. So, when do you use your nicer/more expensive/limited edition pens?
Right now, I use my MB 149 and similar fountain pens (I know, I know you MB loyalists there is no similar pen to the 149 ) for writing in my journal or for notes to people.

I use all of my LE MB Writer's Editions as I do any of them. I have a MB Agatha that I love and it writes extremely well. Also several others that make the regular rotation.
Life is too short to keep them in a box. Enjoy them!

Only them. I never "keep" best for anything. I always have only the best.
Like Oscar Wilde said : "I have but the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best."

Same for writing my journal. The 'beater' pens I carry to the office. Cheers,

I love all my pens from my MB fountain pen to the MP ballpoints to my new Fisher space pens that I got from Christmas. Each has it's own time and place for use. The fountain pen for personal correspondence, the ball point for day to day business use and the Fishers for jeans and rough and tumble use.

I take pride bringing my pens to work, especially meetings.
At current rate I think I'll rotate my pens every 2-3 months... |

Thank goodness, I've never dropped any of my MB fountain pens. I used to have a guy who repaired fountain pens in downtown Chicago on Wabash Ave (jewelers row) whom I could bring my pens to whenever they acted up which was very rare indeed. Alas, now I am living in a small farm town in Michigan without any such repairmen around. Now, I am even more careful when using mine. Not paranoid, just more careful!

I used to do the same thing. I still rotate to a degree, but I am not working in an environment conducive to fine writing implements. Thats why I just got two variations of the Fisher Space pen. The classic bullet pen and the lacquered brass cap-o-matic. Both are icons in their own right at a very inexpensive price.

I'm seeing more and more of the Fisher Space Pens mentioned here. I'm going to have to check them out. I am very curious now.

The pen I wear in my pocket is for signatures... My ink lasts forever.
I've got other pens for writing.

All of my pens are in a regular rotation. Like watches, I see no purpose to purchasing such a fine item only to turn it into a safe queen. They are built to be used. Enjoy 'em!

Wear them in my shirt pocket for business occasions and special social occasions. Oh yeah, I write letters with them also!

I use my Caran D'ache ballpoint pen every day, and have done so since I got it back in 1986! It is still like new, and should last forever!

My daily use is a MB rollerball and a MB Starwalker rollerball. For signing documents that are important and something I carry in my briefcase but don't use much is my MB Starwalker fountain pen.
I wish I had better handwriting to enjoy more the pens but I am a banker that writes like a Doc.
