Too much talk of DSSD's!!!

After spending a little too much time on TRF during the recent snowstorm and spending way too much time reading threads on the Deep Sea, I began thinking about buying one for myself. I decided that I didn't wear my TT sub enough and if I traded that and the 14060 I could almost cover the DSSD. If I want a no date sub, I still have my 5512 so I called my jeweler and......there you have it. I've been driving my family crazy singing my new favorite song "Blue Lume" ( sung to the tune of Blue Moon)!

Great watch! Congratulations! I picked one up myself last week also amidst the chaos of the Heathrow snow... the perfect antidote, I say!

Incidentally, is yours a 'G' series?

(I have enquired as to whether 'G' has now officially been introduced by Rolex to follow 'V' elsewhere on TRF already, so apologies if that breaks the forum rules or such...)

I enjoyed meeting you too! I told my family when I got home about meeting you and they thought it was cool! I'm glad you replied to this post.

While I was making my purchase, I had the pleasure of meeting a fellow WIS and TRF member. I got a new watch and made a new friend. It just doesn't get any better than that!!!

Thank you. It's great to hear from someone in London! What a beautiful city. It's a V series. How does that shake out in the Rolex world? In other words, when was the watch manufactured according to the serial number?

Was never attracted to the watch before today. Tried one on for the first time this morning and it's growing on me rather quickly.

I truly understand what you mean. My curiosity was piqued by reading posts on the forum. When I saw it in person, I really wanted it. I love the bracelet and the bezel. I didn't think I'd like the ceramic and honestly if I didn't have another sub, I'm not so sure I would want it as my only watch but I have to admit it will be my daily wearer probably until time stops for me. It's everything I ever wanted in a watch. I'm just happy that I have a vintage also because I'm really hung up on Rolex history. I kind of feel like now I have 2 pieces from each end of the spectrum.

Welcome to the Deepsea club! As far as we know, the V series is still as current as it gets, meaning it could have been made anytime in the past couple of years, including 2010. It's a great watch - enjoy!

I will post some when I get it. I was going to get rid of my 14060 ND towards it, but decided I want to keep that to give to my son one day... Thanks for the kind words mate.

See....these are like chain threads that keeps other forum members wanting/Jonesing the DSSD. You got tagged and I'm sure I and few others will get tagged. Once you get tagged and buy a DSSD you'll post a thread similar to this thread which continues the chain thread going.

I have to say you are 100% right! That's what happened to me and I guess I'm guilty of spreading the virus.

But...Photos like Mike's keep it going strong! Awesome lume shot!!! Blue lume!

No longer true. Omar, the third post in the thread, has purchased a "G" in London.

Oh, and, Mike, I hope you don't mind, your pic. is now my new background!
