1962 -- What do I have to choose from?

Thinking about getting a birth year Rolex. Being new to all this, I thought I'd ask the vintage forum what I have to choose from.

Thanks!

Well, you have some classics, but depending on the reference (sport) and condition could run $$$$.

Money is always an issue!

No Daytona's or things like that (though I'd love one to go with my 16523...).

Budget would around $5k +/- (prefer less of course). It doesn't have to be fancy. An Air King would do nicely.

$5k will get you DJ's, DD's, maybe Sub's, and TOG's, along with AK's and Speedkings. I'm not sure about 62 GMT's. Lots of choices for DJ's in gold, SS, or tt.

Here is an all-original '62 Thunderbird DJ ref. 1625. Runs to about half of your budget. Great watch.
