Sports watches aren't shiny. Dress watches are.

Depends.
Yes, a GMTIIC is a sports watch, but it is a Pilot's watch, and most of us knew that it is a "glamourous" job, therefore abit of shininess is all good.. IMO.

The only thing a pilot should have that is shiny is his liqour glass that he is holding while he is flying the plane!

I prefer PCLs on the ceramic GMT. They are consistent with the shiny bezel insert, and dial.

It's unfortunate that a few moron pilots make it seem that all pilots are alcoholics.

This thread is about PCL's isnt it?

I've worn it for a while and I think it would look weird without it. Maybe, it's because I'm used to it but I think it looks fine exactly the way it is.

I actually like it. If only it wasn't so scratch prone, I would love it.

Couldn't you brush them yourself with the SS model? I found a thread here where a green scotchbrite 20 pulls one way and 20 pulls the other way of a disconnected bracelet set a nice brushed look.

If I was flying an airplane that is exactly what I would want on my wrist - something shiny to produce glare in my eyes. I don't care if you are wearing polarized sunglasses it is still glare.

Love the blingy PCLs. Just not on my watch. Too impractical.

I like em. So much that I wear my GMTII C on a NATO to keep the PCLs from getting scratched.

I agree. It's interesting to note that many other Rolex sport models (Daytona, Yachtmaster, etc.) have PCL's but no one complains about them on the various forums. Only about the GMT IIC.

I based my vote for PCL's on my TT GMT IIc. The gold looks excellent in a polished finish IMO.

But then I don't consider this model as a 'sports' watch.
