Icon12 Thanks for the price increase, Rolex!

Well, I had planned on buying a GMT Master IIc for sometime (and by sometime I mean about five years! ).

Over the past few months as I got closer to my purchase I waxed and waned on the GMT IIc. Perhaps, I wanted an IWC, Panerai, JLC or maybe a different model Rolex. However, I always came back to the GMT IIc.

I had planned on making the purchase in a few months - until I heard of the price increase. It was a considerable jump and so yesterday I decided to just go ahead and pull the trigger!

It is a stunning watch and it still surprises me when I look down at my wrist. My tried and true Rolex Explorer has been there for five years. I still love the Explorer and it will get a lot of wear. However, the GMT IIc and I are starting our love affair and are in the honeymoon period! (My wife will be so jealous.)

Anyway - the price increase just pushed my timeline up a little bit!

I am attaching a pic from my iPhone (taken with one of the vintage photo apps). The initials on the Padfolio are my father's. It is a Hartmann piece that he bought in the early 80s that he gave to me recently. It is amazing how well that belting leather holds up.

Best,

Chad

Can you believe the re-sale value on your watch went up overnight?

That's awesome!

Thanks all! Loving it!

Love all the pics, thanks! Man, does that ceramic bezel shine and I love the PCLs!

I have two year old twins at home and someday my watches will be passed down to them. Of course, when that time comes I hope my collection will have grown considerably. LOL

Come on. If you are bitching about an 8% increase you probably shouldn't be buying a $7000+ watch in the first place...

Congrats on the watch, btw, it's a stunner!

Very true. It was a hell'uva selling point to the wife though!

I used her old "I saved so much money today shopping" bit...

Oh - and now it is an $8000 watch! :)
