Canadian to buy his first Breitling

Hello All,

1st time poster...

I have successfully landed a new job that is going to allow me to celebrate this life milestone with a nice momento from breitling.

I am really keen on this model

http://www.luxist.com/2011/03/01/bre...tomatic-watch/

Now my questions is...how should I go about purchasing this? more specifically..I live in Toronto and the only AD is LA SWISS...and I'm concerned I am probably going to pay more then I should (with taxes and canadian pricing). Any fellow posters with any advise on if and where I should look (perhaps certain stores in the US?) to get the best deal would be appreciated.

Thanks guys for your help, I am looking forward to joining the club soon!

I bought my SuperOcean Abyss a few months ago from La Swiss and bargained...I was able to bring it down to $2100 cash (taxes in) from $2800...not sure if that was a good deal back in Feb...

Nice work! How did you bargain it down so much? Any tips? I love the SuperOcean Abyss..nice choice.

Which La Swiss did you go to? It looks like the chronospace automatic is not on display yet from the yorkdale La Swiss I visited

Congrats on landing a new job and Welcome to TRF !
The Breitlings have a big mark up and I found it very easy to get a good discount. There is only one Breitling AD in my Province also and I was instantly offered a 25% discount when I walked in the door.
I decided to look around a bit more and with the help of another TRF member was able to get a better deal from a Vancouver Breitling AD.
First find out the MSRP on the model you are considering.
Then go to your local AD and get your best price. After that go to the Breitling website and get the names of a few more Breitling AD's across Canada (don't forget Alberta has only 5% sales tax) and call or email them requesting a price.
If you get a good price you can go back to your local AD and see if they can match it.
This works for me and I found you can easily get a 25-30% discount on most Breitling models.

Good Luck !

Welcome to TRF! Congrats on the new job! La Swiss is a nice store. I suggest checking out "WatchFinder" in Toronto. They have two great locations! Lots of used Breitlings there.
