Just bought a watch winder...

Now that I'm splitting time between my LV and my 16613, I'm finding that it's difficult to keep both fully wound all the time. So, the watchwinder is a perfect solution.

I'd like to ask the gurus here if they have experience with the Steinhausen Executive single watch winder. See link:

http://www.steinhausenonline.com/ste...ood-sm483.html

Does anyone have experience or opinions? Your input is appreciated!

Can't comment on that one, but I have a Brookstone quad winder that I got on Amazon that works well, and was inexpensive, relatively speaking.

Everytime I buy another watch, my dealer just gives me a bigger winder.

Actually the best winder is your wrist. In actuality if not being worn it wont hurt the watch one bit to give it a rest. In fact it might be better because then there will be less wear on the movementl. The winder really isn't that necessary for watches such as a Rolex watch which doesn't have a lot of complications and require a number of things to be done to set them up before wearing.

We'll never settle the debate. Some use winders, some don't.

I get it. But how do you keep multiple watches wound while you're trying to even out their wear-time? My Subs keep stopping on me as I try to even out their wear time.

I don't worry about it. Before putting on a different watch which I do almost daily and sometimes twice a day, I just take a little time to set and wind the next watch. It doesn't take that much time really.

In fact for me its kind of fun. I'm a WIS after all.

I have a Rapport winder and love it. They double as an excellent display case too, so you can have a quick look at 'where all your money goes' each time you pass!

Beats hiding them away in boxes, safes or socks!!

Love my winder too... Just something inexpensive that I picked up from an AD, it is a triple winder and was about $400

Whenever I read one of these threads I laugh when I see the 'you'll wear out the movement' comments. People go on and on about how tough a Rolex is built but you're worried about an auto winder for a few hours a day? Come on people, give it up.

It's not that a Rolex can't take it, it just that a winder for a watch with very little complications is hardly worth it.

I'm from the winder school. I have at least 9 automatics, all of which have one or more complications. It's bad enough I have to reset the date every other month. To have to do it each time I wear one of my watches would be a real pain in the butt.

This is my most complicated watch. I hate to tell you how long it takes to reset it when it stops - which is why I try never to let it run down.

This one gets 90% of my wrist time.

All of my other watches have at least a date complication. Most have a GMT function and/or a day-date function.

I got my winder free from my AD. Plus they clean and polish it for free for life is kinda cool.

I use a winder simply because I want to be able to grab and go, without having to reset the time.

...And many people think money people pay for a Rolex is hardly worth it. Does that mean we shouldn't buy Rolexes?

I just got a few winders and I love them, they look nice and make it easy to grab a watch and go.
