Very nice. My JV is aging very nicely. It looks hot on my 351. By far, my favorite strap.

I've only had it for a few weeks, but it is getting a nice patina and getting a little darker.

Did they have it in stock or had to order it? Were you able to get a discount?
Thank you in advance. |

Mines now about 3 weeks old and the patina is developing very nicely. If you want to speed up the process - you can VERY - and I mean VERY VERY - lightly put some oils - say jojoba oils onto your hands - then lightly and gently massage the strap with your fingers. Be warned thought - it really darkens fast so you need to do this with very little oil and slowly.

i really like the patina look of the JV, and it was the sight of a 312 on a JV that got me interested in the dark side. just that when i finally went to the AD to pick one up, the BNIB color was so pale and different, i couldn't bring myself to buy it. maybe the one i saw was from a different batch, because yours has a golden hue even when new.
anyway, agreed, the prices are pretty nuts. just waiting for the non-OEM makers to start jacking up their prices, too, to follow PAM. |

Hey Cru. Dont worry. They all look pale. Mine too. After a few weeks mine has a patina on it that makes it look well worn.

Don't do anything to it like oil or creams. Just some wearing in rotation with your other straps. It'll develop a nice patina.
Congrats. New.... Current patina perfection...

Oh and btw, Oliver Smith's is the bomb! Other watch dealers need to work like them. Class act all the way.

That is so beautiful. I'm really digging the patina on that strap. What is the process of creating a JV strap anyways? You mentioned there is oils in the leather that causes the patina to show? |
