104 question
I think I know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyways. Is it possible to put a ss bracelet on a 104? I assume the answer is no, but would like to know if anyone has attempted this with any success.

I have not attempted but I think they are available for the 104. However they are very expesive. The last time I had heard, they were over $1000. Best of luck in your search.

The original old style bracelets for the 44mm watches have 2 outward extensions (for screws). The watches that came with these bracelets have grooves in the lugs to accept these extensions and screws. Therefore, at least initially, no OEM (24mm) bracelet would fit on any other model but the few that were designed to take it. Not the same story with the 40mm models.
However, since Panerai redesigned the case for the new quick change system, they are all able to receive the new style bracelet, and a revised "old style" bracelet that has little thin tabs at the end that are unobtrusive. The old style bracelet was / is absolutely amazing. It would probably serve you better to trade your 104 against one of the original bracelet models. |
