The watchmaker at a US authorized dealer just told me there's a good chance in Feb.. He said it was due to the fact that the Swiss govt. (?) now operates Rolex and was looking to increase prices. i recall that Rolex is (was?) owned by a trust but apparently ... according to this guy... due to the recent death of one of the principals, is now being operated by the Swiss government directly.
Wish I had more specifics, but still trying to learn about these kind of details about the brand. |
