Anyone had any dealings with Ian Blowers Jewellers in Kingston upon Hull (UK).
Looking for watches for myself and sister, Know that Dream watches has a good reputation but dont know about Blowers? Are they good to deal with? It would be an online purchase as we live too far away to visit.

Blowers are very good to deal with, I got my last Datejust from them. The specialise in pre-owned but unused watches, I would guess this means they have been acquired from other jewellers. Bear in mind some of these jewellers are in Europe so the watch may not be UK stock (if such a status exists) but it does mean you will save quite a bit of money on a new watch. I got a good deal from them and I'd be very happy to buy from them again. I bought mine over the phone as I too am a long way from them.

Spunga, can you recommend anywhere less expensive (but also reputable) - I'm thinking of trading up my watch.

Blowers is good and as well as pre-owned unused he also carries a good stock of pre-owned used. Another good source in the UK is watches.co.uk I have used them three or four times. They operate out of West London and you can visit their office. Prices are also a bit keener than Blowers.

Been there, done that so a right royal recommendation is to approach Blowers or perhaps take a look at Fitzrovia in London.....

I've have used Dream Watches also based in the UK, (http://www.dream-watches.co.uk/) , if only as a good UK non Rolex affiliated agent for a price comparison against Blowers.

Having used DW, they are very one on one and very very enthusiastic.

DW probably sell more vintage sets (papers etc etc) than Blowers (IMO) because I check each site at least once a week myself.

On their site, you will see a WG meteor Daytona. That's my baby.

I have used Miltons( miltonairs) and bought a very nice GMT Pepsi from them and they gave me a bottle of Champagne with the deal,recomend them.

I've used Blowers and have found them very good. I do rate Official Watches as better on both price and service though

I did a deal yesterday with Blowers as they had the exact (unused) Rolex I was after. Nathan - I've not heard of Official Watches, I will look them up. Most of the dealers seem to specialize in men's models, but Blowers have a great selection for the ladies. I've ordered a midsize tt datejust, I'm hoping it will arrive tomorrow.

Thanks for all the feedback folks, I have a 2008 Sea Dweller, but looking to add a bi metal GMT, was thinking of a new one but if a can get a BNIB unused for a lot less than the £7800 (before bartering!) that the AD's are asking, thne that seems to make sense.Although my Wife is not happy at the prospect(of spending the money, or especially online!). Sea Dweller covers current life, GMT for previous ....
