Are you a one brand collector or not?

I collect just Rolex and I do so for good reason...
I love researching history, design, anything whichever has to do with the brand.
Ofcourse there are many many great watch brands, some are more desirable and built to a higher quality and some less.
I have my hands full with just one brand, so I keep my interests focused. Diversity is just not my thing, im happy with just one brand and feel more comfortable collecting within the Rolex lineup..
Im curious how the rest of you wis think and function in this great hobby..?

If I like a watch, can justify another one to myself and have the means, I'll buy it. I wouldn't restrict myself to one brand.

I've collected other brands besides Rolex and still do. To me, diversity is waaay more interesting.

I happen to like Omega more than Rolex. At some point ( at this mid range luxury level), the question for me becomes what looks best ( they're all great quality watches and exclusive enough for me) . Not what's the more prestigious/ status oriented brand. I think many TRFers, though certainly not all, get too caught up in this. I happen to like the look of Omegas more. In general, their designs IMO have a lot more style and flair than Rolex designs while still maintaining a timeless quality.

I prefer Rolexes, but I also have two Tudor watches (a blue Submariner and a Tiger chronograph) and a Tag Heuer Aquaracer.

What about a vintage Panerai with a Rolex movement? Does that qualify? Learning about those is how I bought my first Panerai.

Yes, the expense keeps me focused to just Rolex...
I have had the same problem with antique autos...years ago I had a number of them...once I sold all but one, I could focus on just that one car and also keep a cap on my expensive hobby...

I was wondering what the huge interest here on the forum is with panerai...
Not attracted me yet.

No, but I'm not a collector either, I just buy watches I like.

So far one Panerai, two Oris and five Rolex. Next on the list is first a JLC, a Sinn and then a 1675 Pepsi.

Rolex only it seems for me. I have tried and tried to love some other brands like Panerai but they never last... For the time being and until I find something else it will remain Rolex

Rolex is my "main brand" for now (I'd like to think so anyway...), I do have other brands in my collection. I like varieties, I think it makes it more interesting.

Having said that, I'm also a big fan of G-Shock watches

i like different brands but feel Rolex's are the most versatile and make awesome daily wearers. I almost pulled the trigger on an AP Royal Oak Chrono but it was to much cash in the end. I love other brands and if I had the financial means I would not limit myself to just one. i will one day get my AP, muuuuuuahahahhaha!!

I prefer Rolex in general as a brand, but I also own Omega and Panerai. To me the decision is individual watch vs. watch, not brand vs. brand.

I do prefer rolex but I'll buy anything that catches my eye as long as I can afford it.

I'm a one watch per brand collector. I try to carefully select the best watch (at least best for me) from each brand I'm interested in. So far it went as SS Sub-C LN from Rolex, Speedmaster "MoonWatch" from Omega, Colt II Quartz from Breitling, and Royal Oak 15300ST from AP. Still thinking about what would be the best for me from Patek...

I like the idea of collecting only Rolex. I have a Rolex and a Tudor. I'd like a Blancpain too but I'd also like a few more Rolex.

While I'm pretty much a "Rolex Guy", I do have some Panerai and one Tudor. Open to others, but Rolex's design is tough to beat!

I like the variety that different brands can offer... but it is about loving the individual watch and seeing where it fits with the other things you have. A collection needs to make sense to the collector... not necessarily to others.

No on both accounts, even if I love watches and read up on them/amass knowledge I don't really view myself as a collector. Rolex is the brand that best fits my need, style, vibe and values, but I'm not exclusive. I really like AP, PP, Lange and a few other as well.

Nope, like all sorts of watches. But, for online forum fun, only Rolex Forums will do.
