AP ROO Rubberclad SS Black
Firstly, thank you to all who suggested, approved and set-up this AP sub-forum - great to have it here on TRF.
As I have noted with several other members' posts, I too, am becoming increasingly interested in AP. The model that has captured my attention is the ROO Rubberclad Stainless Steel - black face - white (possibly silver?) sub-dials. I have yet to see the watch in person but it looks stunning from images. My only potential concern is that I am not sure about the rubber strap and feel if I could, might try and fit a black leather hornback with contrasting white stitching (sort of match the aesthetics of the dial). Herein lies my concern - being that this model has a rubber bezel might it not 'mesh' with a leather strap - the two different materials maybe not combining well together? I would be interested to hear if anybody has done this or if infact the general concensus is 'no, probably would not look/feel good - please all comments are welcome. I have looked and at circa $20-25k I do not see any other options in AP's range for this particular set-up (black face - white/silver sub-dials). My next options would be a ROO Panda or ROO Navy - both come on leather hornbacks but have the opposite dial configuration that I really want - being white face - dark sub-dials, though I have to concede the red accents on the Panda dial are very attractive!! I have read that some with smaller wrists can have comfort/fitment issues with the Hornback - mine are 7.75" so hopefully will not be an issue. I appreciate all thoughts, comments & any suggestions, |

I will say I find the rubber strap very comfortable. As for the hornback- my wrist is 7 1/4 and I am on the second to last hole so you will have to order a long strap. I love the black Rubberclad and it would make a nice watch for you. With that said I am not sure you could pick a bad ROO- they are all nice IMHO! Best of luck and happy hunting.

Have to agree with you there - the whole ROO range is fabulous.

I'm a big fan of the rubber clad, esp the new dial that came out this year.

My 6.5" wrist precludes me from comfortably wearing a ROO but your 7.75" wrist is the perfect size and the rubber straps are excellent. Can't go wrong with ANY ROO model.

One thing though, it is not really about your wrist size/circumference, it is more about the shape of your wrist. Some are flatter than others, some have bones protruding etc. The only way to tell it to try it and evaluate the fit on YOUR wrist. Not get infatuated by the design, at least to me, fit and comfort comes first.

Thanks all for replies.
My wrist is fairly flat with no real protruding boney parts - so hopefully fitment will be ok. But it would be prudent to get to an AP AD just to try some on, |

The rubber strap is nice, but the lume in real life is a faint green rather than white as the marketing pictures suggested. The bezel isnt a solid black either due its rubber nature, its kind of an extremely dark gray. If you opt for a black hornback, do it with the black stitching.
