No real starter IMO. Its kind of like asking what's a good starter Ferarri......no bad choice.

For what it's worth the 15300 got me hooked on the brand.

A 15300 would be the entry point for Royal Oaks at $15400 MSRP brand new. Here's mine.

It all depends if you are looking for something in the Royal Oak or the Royal Oak Offshore line.

Hate to be a parrot, but the 15300 will be hard to beat......

another great option would be the outgoing (39mm) RO Chronograph, and if you want something more purely sporty? Offshore Diver.

And don't forget, Audemars is about much more than just the RO/ROO lines. Be sure to check out the classic Jules Audemars or Edward Piguet collections. Millenary is pretty awesome too, if you want to roll with something different.

Depends on your style. The 15300st was my starter, but if I were younger and did not already have several dive watches the ROO diver would have been a great start. Try both and think which one you would be happiest to show your friends. Buy that one and then save for the other!

I really like these "entry-level" AP's. Too bad they're kind of smallish.
