New to me 2255.80 question on adding strap

Picked up a awesome full size auto 2255.80, the dial on these are top notch. My question is about swapping out the orginal ss bracelet for a strap as I cannot get the bracelet to fit the way I want it to. If I buy a nato or similar strap do I need to change the spring bars as well? Should I bring the watch into a shop to swap it or can a novice change out the stap with the proper spring bar tool? My first omega and second "fine time peice". Ah I wish I had more money, need more watches!!!!
