Which to keep/ Sell??

I might as well start at the beginning to give the background of my panerai ownership! That slippery slope that starts with 1 watch but never ends there :)

For me the first was a lovely 312 which suited my needs at the time when moving from a rolex GMT II as being an auto with date and sandwich dial. From there I bought a 292 and very recently added a 176 and then 372.

My probelm is that the 176 and 372 were never both intended to be bought as I had only planned for 1 addition, but the heart rules and they're both here :)

My dilema is that I really should think about letting one go, but can't quite make up my mind which.

The 372 would probably be the easiest sold as it's current and never been worn, but I really do love the dial, plexi and pretty much everything about it.

The more I get into Panerai, the more I've come to appreciate the manual wind and although I like the 312, I do think it sits a little high on the wrist. I've worn thr 312 pretty much every day for about 18 months so it's got its fair share of scratches, but still looks good.

The 292 is probably my favourite and isn't going as it was also bought as a 10th wedding anniverary present (not wise selling that one ;))

So that leaves the 176 which I think is such a great daily watch being quite slim, light and subtle, but with so much style and the base luminor just has that something special.

What should I do?!!

I also quite fancy the upcoming 425 SLC Rad, although that'a another dilema ;)

I would let the 176 go - you have a 'Super Base' 372

Also, I am not a fan of Ti

Given that you have 2 base models, I'd let the 176 go. The 372 is King!

The 176 is an obvious choice, although I would let the 312 go. I have a 112 and a 351. While I do like the 351 very much, I would keep the 112 if times got tough. For some reason, I like the manual wind 112 better. Luckily, I don't have to make that decision for some time, if ever.

312 as I also favor the manual wind historic models. And I would start wearing that 372!

WOW, a lot of 176 hate.
That is the ONE I would keep over all others.

That's just me though.

I would sell the 312. IMO, the 176 makes the perfect daily wearer with its brushed finish and it's super light weight.

I would sell the 176 and keep the 312. The 312 is the only one with date and auto movement.

Thanks for all the feedback.

The 176 certainly doesn't seem to be the favorite on here!... It really is a great daily watch and fits comfortably under a shirt where the 312 doesn't... Problem is that they all have there place tbh.

Time to get some work done and maybe justify keeping them all!

as you said, 292 isn't going anywhere and 176 is a great daily watch (i agree with charles, it's a fantastic piece). on the other hand, the 312 sits a bit high on your wrist, so, it already has a strike against it in your heart.

so, sell the 312, keep the 292 and 176, and start enjoying the 372. no, it won't fit under the cuff like the other two, but, it's an AMAZING piece and can serve as a special non-daily in your collection. plus, you'll have three different case materials, so, that's good, too.

good luck with the choice.

That is probably where my head is at tbh. As I've not even worn the 372, I've not mentally added it to the collection, whereas the 312 was a daily watch for a long time and my first PAM so hard to get my heart around selling it.

On the horizon, I've got a real urge to push the boat out and get a 317 for my 40th next year so the 312 would probably have to go at that point anyway.

You can't sell the 372 or 292 so I'd sell the 176 plus 312 and get the sickest watch you can buy.then you'll have 3 very nice refs.

Why would you buy a 372 and NEVER wear it? Very confusing... what's the point?

If it were me I'd sell the 176 (and I have a 177) and possibly the 312. Then you can buy a sub and complete the family

Thanks for all the replies. The 312 is going with a 317 being planned for late next year if I can find one. Just need to start looking for some nice 26mm vintage straps

I'd sell the 312.

And the 425 is a real stunner

I love the black PAMs, but so expensive. The 317 is a looker, but the dial is super busy to me. Chrono, 8 day indicator, GMT....whew makes my head spin

You've got to make it happen, Thomas. How many times are you going to post that pic?
