15202 new jumbo vs. 15300

would you guys pick 15202 over 15300 since they both have the same size 39mm, but different height?

i see many people are talking about 15300, but not many 15202 here.
any photos would be great.

looking for blue dial.

thank you

I love the Jumbo and especially the new one, However i would choose the 15300 as a first AP.

the new Jumbo is a stunner but people tend to go for the 15300 because it is a lot less cash ($22k for a stainless steel sport watch with no complication will turn a lot people off). On top of that, the 15202 lacks second hand as well as a date quickset - i should actually come with an auto winder ;-)

The 15300 is a much more functional and practical watch, the 15202 is a little more quirky and more for purists. Do a google search, lots of info on both including comparisons. Only you can decide if the 15202 is worth the extra dosh.

The new 15202 only comes with blue dial.

Both are great watches for different reasons.

Depends on what you are looking for--both somewhat hard to find as well.

Personally I like a little thicker, so 15300 for me.

you have to see the 15202 movement, then it would be no contest.

I agree

But AP shouldn't have re designed the rotor blade

Old style 15202

New 2012 15202

15300 for me.

* Prefer the thickness of the case
* More robust, weighty bracelet and clasp
* Second hand
* Screw down crown
* Quick-set date
* detailed carvings on the 22k gold rotor
* 3120 in-house movement is a modern classic; among the best modern automatic movements ever made
* lower price

I had the pleasure to try on a the 2012 15202 at the Watchtime show recently. It is amazing. It does not feel light and fragile nor does it feel quirky to me. It is one of the most beautiful watches I have ever had the pleasure to try on and the movement is both unique and gorgeous. I would choose the 15202, no contest!

does jumbo use AP in house movement or something else?
it seems that Vacheron constantin and some others have the same movement.

The movement was manufactured by JLC and licensed to AP, PP, VC. However it is now exclusively AP's.

Get the 15202 and have the rotor personalised with your initials. Ap will do this for anyone, not just exclusive clients.

Or get the 15300 and have the rotor personalised with your initials.

But the 15300 has the option of the white/silver dial whereas the new 15202 doesn't.

And that colour dial changes beautifully in natural sunlight.

AP doesn't offer personalized rotor engraving on the 15300.
