Icon5 Tudor help needed

Hello all, I am hoping to get some info on this watch I picked up, as the closest Rolex dealer is over 100 miles from me.

Markings are

model 7928
s/n 435972

inside of case back reads
Montres Tudor SA
Geneva Switzerland Patented
Stainless Steel
7928
111.64

only markings on the movement (which concern me the most)
2776 under the balance wheel, and the makers mark.
(ETA 2776 movement?)

Sorry, hit the wrong button.

My question is, is this a legitimate Rolex? and if so, why isn't the movement marked as all of the other Tudor's I've seen in my research.

Value?

Where to find a vintage bezel for less than $500?

Thanks in advance!

Hate to tell you this but there are so many issues with this watch. Dial and movement number alone are screaming fake.

Depends. Did you pay more than $1k? The case may be good. The dial and movement are likely bad. Need better pics of the case and back

I hate to say it, but I bought it sight unseen at a watchmakers estate auction, thinking I was fairly safe since he had been a Rolex "serviceman" for a lot of different jewellers.

So it's not a lottery ticket. Still a good running and good looking piece for the $75 I have invested in it.

I also bought a box of 20 new old stock accutrons for $15, so fleabay will still make this a profitable deal.

Thanks all for the replies! I really appreciate the quick info.

Great to know your investment was at a minimum on this one.

Here are some more pics of the piece, all the info I can gather will be greatly appreciated so that I can properly represent it if I decide to sell.

unfortunately, the model and serial numbers are rubbed from band wear, and only legible up close in the right light, so I couldn't get pic's of them.

IMHO: case is legit and dial is redone. Movement might be legit albeit I think the rotor should be marked Tudor but that might have been replaced in the past. Hands might be real deal but I think for another type. So: as a parts watch it might be a good deal.

Case might be legit but the movement should be the Tudor 390 so I assume different dial feet than the ETA in there now so I doubt a redial of an original. Looks like someone decided one day to build a watch in an afternoon.

The ETA - 2778? - is pretty common and not original.

Requires too much to make bring back on than for the fun of a project.

You'll get your 75 back

Pm me if you want to sell it! Case should be ok. The serial if really ground down does reduce the case value.
