Help a novice out please

I like all three of these watches. What is your input?

I generally say no to ebay with Rolex. Those all look suspect to my eyes albeit I am no vintage expert.

I'd say pass on all three of them. The first one is probably real, but has been redialed. The 2nd one is just a converted pocket watch...I don't think anything is Rolex on that one. The 3rd one has also been redialed and is quite pricey.

Kyle summed it up pretty good.

Personally I'd only consider the third one. the lister has creds and trends pass so I count the restoration as a plus. Beautiful especially considering it's all original. It's a hundred year old watch!

The first MAY be be an authentic early Rolex.

The second has been discussed at length here, and is generally agreed to be an early Rolex sourced movement in an aftermarket non-original case.

The description of the third doesn't ring true, and the Rolex branding on the dial is not consistent with a 1915 Rolex. That was the year Hans Wilsdorf started the Rolex Watch Company (from 1905 to 1908 it was Wilsdorf & Davis) , and no known dials from that year were branded "Rolex". The watch presented appears to have a refinished dial, and the hands were not known to be used on Rolex watches until several decades later.

I've just messaged the lister of the third watch asking him to state his case here. Let's see what he has to say regarding his assertions that the watch is as he says.

Okay, I messaged the seller and told him of this discussion suggesting he may want to comment. This is his response:

Good evening,

With respect, I could not care less what the self styled
experts say in the forums. I have read the comments and they are mostly
rubbish. The watch is 100% all original Rolex parts and yes, the dial is
restored - as my description points out! Doh. They really are too stupid to
read. I have twenty years experience; I know far more than they do I assure
you. But as I said, I take no interest in these silly forums; someone will
get a great early Rolex.

Best,

Stephen

I don't know why he upset, with his watch, all that was said is thst it had a refinished dial, which he states to his credit, it also has refinished hands which he does not state, ask him about them.
