Mont Blanc Starwalker

Dear All,

Thought I'd share my newest aquistion - a Xmas gift from Andrea - needless to say - I'm chuffed, I think it compliments a Rolex very nicely

As I had the camera out, thought I'd also try to improve my skills at pics of my 2 babies - to no avail !

A light box and SLR cam is on the cards for '08 me thinks

The Starwalker is a nice series...a modern update from the traditional classic you see often.

I have the cool blue rollerball myself. I got my wife a Boheme since she has small hands.

I chose the blue one for her. Here's a photo of mine and hers. The cool blue changes shades depending on the lighting so it's really impossible to capture its beauty with a picture.

The Starwalker is my favorite series. The one you got is one of my most prized pens. My father bought it for me as a Christmas present in 2004 just before he passed away on Dec. 28 of '04. My wife bought me the aniversary edition of the pen (with the Mont Blanc diamond instead of the snowflake) for our first anniversary this past May.

Enjoy the pen, it is wonderful! Did you get the ballpoint, rollerball, fineliner, or fountain version?

It's the rollerball, but the shop also gave me the fine liner refill if I fancy a change..

The Starwalker series are very nice. I just returned from the SF store and purchased the black resin fineliner with a backup rollerball refill for a friend, hope she likes it. Oh, the 100 year anniversary series with floating diamond is so fine. Not that another $100 would make that much difference, but the thought of giving something with diamond to a girl might send the wrong message, right?

Which girl wouldn't like a diamond?

My friend bought the anniversary ballpoint for her husband. I would have gotten one if they made one in a rollerball.

Don't say that, now I might have to go back and exchange for the 100 year diamond Starwalker series...might even got some of these

By the way, they do have them in rollerball; the fineliner (pen with cap) is the only model you can interchange with the two different refills.

I've been to two Montblanc ADs, looked on the website and the catalog and there is no indication of the diamond anniversary in a fineliner/rollerball. It only comes in a ballpoint or a fountain pen.

The boutique I visited is located in SF. The pen the sales lady shown to me is refered to "Montblanc Starwalker Special Edition" with a "Mont 100 Blanc" engraved on the clip ring attached to the cap beneath the diamond. When you navigate the website, http://www.montblanc.com/special_100...=solitaire100#, on the menu listed on the left, click Anniversary Editions, then click Writing Instruments, and finally click Starwalker Special Edition.

The Starwalker Special Edition is basically the same as any of the Starwalker series in black resin (in this case, it's the model with twist cap [Ident. No. 08485]), http://www.montblanc.com/products/bl...esin.08485.php, applied with the obvious changes/upgrades as mentioned above.

What the heck, I decided to go ahead and make the exchange tomorrow. I can take and share some pics with you all before she packages it up in gift wrap.

[Edit] Another point worth noting ballpoint models are only available in twist mechanism only.

[Edit 2] Do you all noticed the serial number by the clip ring? Fancy that for a writing instrument.

Sorry for the wrong information. I called this morning and the sales person confirmed there are no fineliner/rollerball in the Starwalker Special Edition series; as vh_bu98 pointed out, only fountain pen and ballpoint are available. Oh well.
