....just a bit:

Noticed it today. The date is not perfectly centered in the date display window!

There is more space on top of the date than underneath it.

Would you tolerate this or get it fixed?

Or is your date like it? I haven't any other Rolex to compare it with than my SS Cos that naturally has no date.

I think it is fine. The bubble can play tricks on you. When I took a pic of mine people thought it was a fake. But I took it at a different angle and it looked dead on.

I don think I'd let it bother me, Bo. I sure wouldn't have it opened up just for that. You might get an AD to offer a second opinion on this, but I'd let it go. JMO.

Looking at the pic it looks to be over to the left too.
I would think you would have to have the date wheel changed to sort that Bo.
Does it bother you that much?

Both of my Explorers are not exactly spot on either, but this is a good way to stop me worrying about it

It will jump back to normal.

I know how obsessive watch owners like us can be, but honestly, I would just let it be.

A) It doesn't look bad at all
B) Unless you were to hold it side by side with another of the same exact model, you would never notice that it was off a little and not inteded to be that way
C) Do you really want to turn over your brand new watch to someone that might accidently scratch it all up?

Personnaly I prefer not to send my watch back unless absolutely necessary. I'm like that with my car too. Everythime I get it back, there are all these mystery scratches that I didn't put there. I'd rather deal with a little imperfection like that than risk getting it all messed up worse.

Just my opinion here. But honestly, it may just work itself out on it's own anyway. Nice watch by the way, enjoy it!

I have to say, i probably would not of noticed it, and still really only just can pick it out. But if your like me, once a niggle gets under your skin, I'm not happy until it's resolved, and i guess now you've noticed it, you'll always keep glancing at it. Particularly if it's a keeper.

After a quick check, my "30" is bang-on centre on the Sub and maybe ever so slightly out on the datejust (It's hard to be sure)
From the pics you've posted, I wouldn't let it bother me.

A bunch of my watches have off dates. I don't think it's a mechanical problem. Nothing's perfect, otherwise you'd be flipping like crazy. kinda like a man/woman looking for the perfect mate. Ain't no such thing. I think they call it the "looking for prince charming" complex. I wouldn't be so OCD about it.

Well, maybe just a wee bit crazy!

Anyway, that 11th. number gave me some comfort. Seems to be perfectly centered!

Bo,

Actually I have noticed on some watches that if you quick set the date with the crown in first position, as it jumps quite fast, it often goes off centered, but if the date change is normally done around midnight or by moving hands as well with the crown in second position, then it will snap right in position.

That is why when I set a watch after a long stop, I will set it to the date before the actual day, and set the whole movement ( second crown position ) to the actual date and time.

I don't know if it applies to Rolex jumping date though.

It may be offset in the window but it is level...if you raise it a little to center it, it will no longer be level.

I made the same thoughts about that, Pierre.

Seems like it makes no difference with the quick-changing date mechanism.
