Knowledge of DJ with meteorite dial?

This is for sale on eBay right now...SS DateJust with a meteorite dial...I did not know Rolex made such a watch (I presume all meteorite dial watches were on white gold watches, not SS). Any thoughts?

I've not seen a meteorite dial on anything other than daytonas.

Have not seen any dial catalogs recently. It's clearly real and
Pretty impressive even in midsize.

Meteorite dials were scattered across a few models other than the Daytona. And still the most unique to me since no 2 are alike.

To my knowledge, I have not seen a meteorite dial on a SS model.

Looks great. The 178274 with 10 diamond on Meteorite dial is in the 2012 Rolex dealer book. Page 17

Meteorite is very cool stuff. I make custom knives with it.

Does anyone knows if meteorite dials are made out of actual meteorites? I remember there was a platinum or 18k yellow gold Corum, 25 years ago or so, which dial was made out of a meteorite called "Peary".
Are Rolex meteorites real today?

Good question its sth i like to know.
Is it made from a meteor or it simply has similar composition as a meteor...

The dials are cut from the Gibeon meteorite, which fell, or was first found, in Namibia in 1836.

Mine is a white gold Day Date meteorite with two pear-shaped diamonds and masterpiece dial.

My searches for the mid-size version 178274 with meteorite are coming up empty with lots of hits on fakes. I don't know anything for sure, but I'm not afraid to say be careful.

Cheeses, I wish they would make a no diamond meteorite dial for my RG DD...That silvery grey face with the rose gold would be perfect. To each his own, I want a meteorite face without diamonds...

I'm sure they have it for sale on demand. But will cost a fortune.

Well, they're not big diamonds, so, not to worry.

Nice choice.
