Advice on Datejust for a Lady
I have almost decided on what Rolex to get: 31mm Datejust Two Tone Yellow Gold with Stainless Steel Jubilee Bracelet Fluted Bezel and Champagne Dial.
I am still undecided on which markers to get though. Either: Gold Roman Numeral markers on champagne dial or White Stick markers on champagne dial Please vote and also post your opinions on which one you think looks better! |

Myself a fan of Romans but not with that colour dial much prefer a white dial with anything with yellow gold.

I'm with Peter on this. The Champagne dial doesn't have enough contrast from the gold bezel and markers. If I had to choose from the two it would be the stick markers.

I love the Roman numerals but with that color dial they seem to blend in too much.

If you must have this dial color, I prefer roman

I believe the champagne dial looks much better in real life.
My president is champagne with gold stick markers, I really like the look. I voted for the champagne dial with gold roman numerals. Good Luck. (I know you will make the right decision). |

I'm not a fan of champagne dials.
If I had to choose it would be the stick markers. |

Thank you for the encouragement, Casey. I know a lot of people are not huge fans of the champagne dial but I like the look of it, as well.

Depends on what you want IMO...
Functionality = white stick Better looking = gold roman It helps that the dial is 31mm versus 27mm, but legibility could be a factor depending on the vision (age) of the wearer. FWIW: My wife wears a 178274 white dial w/roman...oyster bracelet. |

Honestly, I think the TT jubilee bracelet is outdated looking. I prefer 36mm on women. I prefer the look of an AirKing or ExpI on my wife, but she is under 30 and fashionable.

Thanks for your input, Karis! I am looking forward to seeing the dials in person, hopefully within the next month or two

Stock pictures aren't the best to really judge a watch if you ask me, it's better to have pictures of the actual models. After a quick research I must say I kind of prefer the roman numerals on this model myself.

I researched actual photos of the watches, but did not want to post those images since I did not take them myself. But I agree that these stock images aren't the best references. Thanks for your input and for taking the time to research them

IMO the Roman numerals... I might get flamed if I put my opinion of lume for non sport models...
At the end do the day she will be happy with either one I am sure

I was set on white romans when I was researching my DJ but when I went to the AD it did not look as nice for some reason. The instant I saw the Champagne with romans I knew I had found my watch. I know you are trying to decide between champagne sticks or romans and they are both nice, however, the romans just looked so classy!
I have had my watch for over a year now and have looked at every dial combination on this forum. I am still very satisfied with my choice and have no regrets. I plan to wear this watch for the rest of my life. As you can see, I think the TT/DJ with fluted jubilee is the most beautiful watch Rolex makes. Good luck with your choice. Here is a pic of my watch the day I got it with the plastic and bezel protector still on it. |
