5508 Rolex
I have owned since the mid 1980's. The original bezel fell off in the 90's never to be found and I purchased an after market bezel (what you see in pic). During service at a rolex dealer, they replaced the hands with what you see. I kept the original gilt hands and parts when they replaced anything. If I recall there was a little moisture in the case at one time, which might of been why the hands were replaced. Is the face plate original and is the phosphorus original? The bracelet is not original but is older, has the locking clasp. Movement does not have the "crown" cutout, but the more plain one, probably replaced at a service. Cogs are not purple, sorry no pictures of the movement. Watch was always serviced at a dealer (in my ownership), and has been authenticated, serial starts with 3XX,XXX. Would like to know if this watch is valuable, or I should just wear it and not be afraid of the wear and tear on it. Thanks.

oouuchhh ..
very old and ugly reprinted dial.
even to give an approximate estimate , these pics would be necessary (high definition please) : 1) case and reference numbers between the lugs 2) inside and outside of the back 3) movement 4) side view on the right side ( to see the winding crown too ). |

I think you can just wear it without worry. Even without further photos you can rest assured that the value remaining in the watch with most of its valuable original components long since gone will not be compromised by further normal wear. Just enjoy it!
