I can get an AD to replace with original for $200.
Seller offered to take watch back. I like the watch just don't like that I wasn't told the crystal had been replaced.
They should at least offer a refund of my cost of another crystal.
But no word back.

Yeah,...If the seller will remit the cost of the crystal and fees I'd be good.

On the one hand, if they make good for the $200 (you can send them the Faulex crystal), yuou may wonder what else about he watch wasn't represented properly. Perhaps you would be satisfied with the piece and enjoy it.

On the other hand, if you send the watch back, which candidly would my inclination in protest to the way the seller did business with you - that watch, complete with a continued misrepresentation may just wind up in the next buyer's hands.

Life would be simpler if folk just dealt squarely.

I too would be concerned about what else you haven't been told, such as how the original crystal had been damage... what else might you not have been told.

If you really love it, and the seller had even said you could return it, why not reach a happy middle ground? Replace the crystal and have him charged over the phone on his credit card from the Rolex shop. Kind of a negotiated settlement of sorts. He may not have been aware it was an aftermarket either.

It is still may bother you, take him up on his offer to return it.

I've been in this situation before, when you see the watch you will always think about this situation, I would return the watch.

Like you, I thought about going to an AD and getting the aftermarket thing replaced, and then I noticed something else, and it just puts a lot of negative feelings on something that should be a great experience.

I would just return the watch if it's an aftermarket crystal. Period.

I wouldn't go that far... a genuine Rolex piece is no issue... when the watch is serviced the whole thing comes apart to bits anyway.
