He just sold the watch. Thanks for all the help. I am just trying to find out how to tell the real from the fake that's all. You can't be too careful. Are there any tips you guys don't mind sharing?

Well in your second picture it looks slightly kinked, but like I said that's probably down to wear..

Buy the seller.

Is the seller trustworthy, responsible and have references for selling other watches?

Good luck.

Spotting fakes is something that takes time and experience.

Without handling a lot of authentic pieces and delving into the
Minutiae you'll have a hard time. If your goal is simply to point
Out fakes, just study. If your goal is to get a good deal on a Daytona,
You'll need to get lucky and have funds available. You strike me
As the type of guy that could get tricked into a deal with the wrong
Seller, posting a real watch and taking advantage of you. I'd spend
More time at trade shows and talking with people rather than spotting Fakes :)

As many times as people verify a watch to be real, the question is always will you get what is in the pics, or will you get anything at all.
As was mentioned buy the seller and perform due diligence, meaning do your research!

Well, one things for sure.

The center links on the bracelet aren't solid gold.

Very weird response. The OP was asking advice, he never stated if he thought the watch was fake or real. He wanted opinions from the community, he was potentially thinking of buying. As others have said, you need to ask a lot of questions and check references. Hope the responses others have given you helped......

He is a repeat poster of similar questions. Just offering advice
Based on my read of the situation. Why do you think my response
Was weird? Have you seen all of his other posts?

Guy comes to the right section to ask about the authenticity of a watch he is potentially going to buy. He never makes a comment either way on whether it is fake or real. You then tell him he seems like a guy who could get scammed. To me the guy is doing the right thing and coming to the right place to ask questions before he makes a purchase. I really don't care if the guy has asked 10 times before, I think he's doing the right thing by asking before a purchase rather than after. Just my opinion...

Likewise I just posted an opinion.

Wouldn't want to see him deciding to purchase a watch based on pictures.

There is so much more that goes into these decisions.

Reading between the lines :)

To the OP, you did the right thing. If you are thinking of purchasing ask many questions and check references as many have stated before. If you need to ask about a watch and you have photos, post them. This is a great forum with many knowledgeable people, who will do their best to help. Happy watch searching....

You are right. I am the type of guy that gets tricked easily. It happened to me before. That is why I was hoping to come to this forum and you guys for help. I am new to this and not as experienced as you guys here. I was hoping I can be as good the people on this forum and be able to spot a fake just by looking. I did not know that posting this many post will cause trouble. If I had known I would not have done that.

fake jumped right out at me.

in all this time, i have noticed first impressions are usually correct, if it doesn't seem quite right, it probably ain't.

ps virtually nothing about that watch seems quite right.

J - no problem man. I'm not giving you a hard time, simply
Legit advice. I hate reading about scams and lost money.
Encouraging you to step away from the computer and into
Shows, stores and pawn shops is a great angle. Try on watches,
Ask questions, and enjoy the learning process.

Doing this in the flesh will be much more valuable. Also, you'll
Eventually meet a trader that wants to help you get into the
Right watch at the right price.

Post all the watches you want!
