Wears more comfortable Exp II 42 or Sub C
Fellas- Good day!
The closest Rolex AD is 2 hours away and would appreciate your advice on which watch wears better? I have currently wear a PO 42 8500. Thanks for your help! |

I have both as well and for me there's not a heck of a lot of difference. The size and shape of your wrist will dictate as well as proper fit. Here I do think the Sub has the advantage with the glidelock clasp.

I have both as well, and I agree that it depends on your wrist. For me, they're close - both comfortable most of the time. But if I had to wear just one all the time, and comfort was the only discriminator, I guess I'd go with the SubC. The Glidelock clasp works great. I really wish Rolex put it on the Exp II as well.

In SS, they are both light and very comfortable; however, I find the ExpII42 to be slightly more comfortable because the case back allows the watch to sit closer to the wrist, giving it a slightly lower center of gravity.

The Sub because it is slightly smaller (wears bigger than a 40mm case watch though) and it has the micro-adjustments on the clasp, which I use all the time depending on the weather, travel etc.

I have both and would say the exp 2 is more comfortable because it sits closer to your wrist

I have tried on both and would give the edge to exp II due to its flatter case and lower profile.

Had both, found the Exp II slightly more comfortable. Not much in it though
Comes down to personal preference, wrist shape, etc...

I only have (and have tried) an EXPII but have been very pleased with the comfort. It took some fine tuning with the microadjustment to the Easylink clasp but I finally found a comfort zone that works well for me.

I have a SubC, but have tried on the Exp2. Honestly, they feel about the same to me. I didn't notice much of a difference. Both are very comfortable.

I just sold my PO 8500 45.5.
I got my SubC and it is the most comfortable I have worn. Glidelock is a Godsend. |

I have both. Both are comfortable but hands down the Sub C is the more comfortable of the two. It comes down to smaller size and glide lock clasp.

Love the Sub. Super comfortable. GMTIIc is even better to me. But both great.

I have both. Exp2 is much more comfortable because of flatter case and more suitable case size. Subc doesn't stay in place on top of my wrist unless I tighten the bracelet uncomfortable tight. Exp2 is the first and only watch I can even wear while sleeping.

I sold off my C-cases and kept the Exp42. Yes, it's a bigger watch but it wears more proportionate on the wrist and rides nice and low. I really think the extra "meat" on the lugs with the C-cases throws off the balance of the watch head. I wouldn't for a second consider the C-cases uncomfortable but I do think the EXP42 is more balanced with a lower center of gravity. YMMV... I don't think there's a wrong answer here and think it should be based more on aesthetic and function of what you want from the watch. |

I like the dome and deep back to the SubC as my wrist bone fits at the side and means a perfect flat fit.

Having had both watches, my experience is the EXII is more comfortable, but only by a small factor.
I would not reject a Sub in favour of an EXII purely and solely because of any slight advantage in comfort. One must remember however that the EXII is 42mm and has the weight distributed on the wrist over a wider area, it has a very flat profile caseback. On the other hand the Sub is 40mm, has more adjustability in the clasp and a relatively flat case profile.
