Lunch time purchase, Omega Planet Ocean 42mm...

So instead of having a meal like all human beings I scooted over to my retailer to pick this up.

Case size is just right at 42mm, and I opted for the one with the orange numerals. Felt the 45mm version a bit too huge for me after trying it on.

Case thickness is quite obvious when worn, and the clear caseback is nice to have but not essential for myself.

Thanks for reading, fellas! 😄

My usual wrist pic...

That's nice, but I preferred to go in the whole orange hog on mine!

Congrats! I love that combo - black with orange. Its the classic PO color scheme, to me. That's exactly the model I would have picked up if I hadn't specifically wanted a blue watch.

How do you feel about the thickness? I've read a lot of complaints, but personally I love the thickness of the case.

Thanks Dave, the thickness gives the watch presence, but I need to be careful not to hit the AR coated dome crystal. If the coating is scratched, it will bother me.

I know what you mean. That's one thing I'm afraid of, the unsightly scratch marks in the AR coating. And with the height of this 8500 PO, bumping it on things might be more likely.

Thanks again guys, its been accurate +1 since I got it.

The bracelet links are rounder at the edges so an extremely comfy fit.

Thick caseback sitting atop the wrist is not so much an issue, hardly notice it anymore after a few days, just remember not to bang the dang thing on glass door handles and aggressive rushy pedestrians.

Yeah, I just bashed mine on the table tonight at the restaurant. I quickly inspected it for damage, my wife rolled her eyes. The PO survived without a scratch.

I'm loving that black and orange, sir.

Thanks Dave, glad your watch is ok, looking at your pics again, I feel your bezel is nicer than my matte grey version, will do a look-see on the Ti Liquid Metal and the GMT PO blue at my AD tomorrow......
