Icon4 Video to answer most common Rolex care & use questions....

not sure if this was ever posted, so apologies in advance if it has been but this video answers most common questions in under 5min. imo, they're not gospel but you might find it useful.

The bit about servicing the watch is bull****... it is just Rolex wanting to get $650+ every 3-5 years unnecessarily...

Very informative but do not agree with the 3-5 yr service interval. 5 at a very minimum.

I also don't think scratching the case back if the watch sits on the clasp is very likely...

Glad to know I was following step 4 correctly - lay it down on its side with the crown downward

Video to answer most common Rolex care & use questions....

For those who dislike scratches and swirls, the 3-5 year interval makes sense. Otherwise not for me either.

The problem is this affects the regulation, and not necessarily in the way you want:

It happened to my Milgauss quite quickly. That guy is Jamie from the Rolex place at One Hyde Park in London. A Blog to Watch has a longer interview with him from around the same time. Just search Rolex Service on Youtube.

Perhaps it depends on the clasp type.

My DJ has the older (tin can) style and have been placing my watch face-up for over 20 years with nary a mark...

Great video and thanks for posting it.
I would think every five years would be good.
I feel lucky that I'm less than an hour away for the Rolex Canada office and can deal directly with them.

According to another thread on TRF this is fairly common.

I'd never get to sleep with a watch on my wrist...
