Rolex explorer 5500 super precision
Hi all,
Can anybody tell me whether or not the Rolex Explorer 5500 "Super Precision" only came with a gloss and gilt dial? Has anybody ever seen one (which is assumed to be genuine) with a matte dial? If so, some photos would be great! Many thanks |

Never seen a matte dial. I had heard a long time ago there was no such thing.

No, they came with all sorts of dials. The 1530 movement is denoted by the dial printing "Super Precision"

But have you ever seen one of these "super precision" dials with a matte finish?

Do you mean the white dialled vintage Explorers? I've never seen one of those with "super precision" written on it. Do you have any pictures of one? I'd love to see.

This is the rarest of the rare, the double-red AK 5500. Only one is known to exist as a prototype. It shares the egg-shell tone dial from the version with the black printing so I'm using it as the example
