HELP lost back of 1957-59 Rolex oyster

I took my watch to a local jeweler to be repaired, he sent it to b a "certified Rolex repairman'" in North Carolina. After a two month wait IO received my watch back. Ten days later I notice the watch had stopped. I remover the watch and discovered the watch back was gone.

I took the watch back to the jeweler to have a back put on. After 3 months still no back. Can anyone tell me where I can get a back and the approximate cost. I will pay and then attempt to get paid by the jeweler.

So you're asking where you can find a case back? Not sure I follow.

Ebay perhaps, or contact your watchmaker. Might get lucky in our classifieds. You neglected to give us much detail at all. Which model? Reference number?

The watch is an Oyster Perpetual, and yes the back fell off while wearing. I have left the watch with the jeweler in the hope that he would find a back so I can't post a pic. I don't think he is looking This has been going on since November 13. I was my hope that someone (repairman) may have parts available for sale.

How does the back of an Oyster case come off while wearing the watch?

Regardless, finding a case back for a watch that old won't be that easy, I wouldn't think.
