Sub C Oyster Bracelet stretch

Is this something you have to worry about with an oyster bracelet, specifically, the Sub C oyster bracelet?

What are some tips to avoid stretch?

Just keep it clean. And if you really want to go crazy ultra sonic cleaner every few months. Also appropriate fit so that it's not loose and swinging around you wrist. Excess movement with excess dirt will lead to stretch in any bracelet.

Second this. I give mine a good scrubbing every week, a labor of love!
In all honesty though to answer your question it's never anything that would cause me to worry.

This.
I don't see folks talking about Veraet cleaning products (maybe something I don't know?) but I like their cleaner and ultra soft brush (and cloths). When my watches are on bracelets, I'll spray/brush/rinse every couple of weeks. If I've had a particularly dirty day, or a day at the beach, I'll clean it the same day.
I bought an ultrasonic cleaner from Harbor Freight for about $40. This works great every 4 to 6 months for deep cleaning the bracelet only (do not put the watch head in there!)

Love Veraet products and use the cleaner, brush and microfiber cloth. I got a ton of it when it went on sale last year when it was rebranded as wristclean.

Veraet works well for most cleanings. If you want to get "crazy" pick up an inexpensive ultrasonic cleaner and run your bracelet through it quarterly.

2 simple things to make a bracelet last.

Make sure it is properly fitted, not loose and floppy.
Keep it clean. Whatever method you wish.
When it starts to get worn and loose, send to Michael Young for a facelift.

I could be wrong but I don't think you need to worry about stretch with the modern solid end link bracelets.

Not really true...
Eventually, with normal wear and tear, any modern bracelet will also succumb to some degree of stretch. How much stretch is dependent on the way its worn and or cared for....just like the bracelets of yesterday.

Don't wear it loose. The end of your little finger should just be able to enter between the bottom of your wrist and the top of the clasp.

And keep it clean. I wash the watch and bracelet nightly with hand soap and warm water, then dry with a towel.

Not many 116520s around with noticeable stretch, and the watch has been in production for 14 years now.

I doubt one has to worry like on the old ones.

Well myself have a few of the older bracelets both 20 plus years old and used and often abused as working tools.Yet both show little signs of this so called stretch which in fact wear in the screw and pin holes. Now just keep clean with regular washing weekly in soap and water rinse well after, no need for phoo phoo sprays. Then wear snug fit just get tip of little finger under clasp and wear just above the wrist bone. This with just normal routine service no reason for it not to last just as long as any oyster bracelet made in the last 30 odd years.

I have no doubt that the only way to remove the problem abrasive build up inside the links that actual cause this "stretch" is by using an ultrasonic cleaner.

I have for decades just used a soft brush and water, never had any excess bracelet wear. Afterwards I wipe with a micro fiber cloth.

Thanks everyone. Warm water, soap, and a toothbrush it is! I'll hold off on the "phoo" "phoo" sprays.

I'm able to fit up to my first knuckle of my pinkie finger under the bracelet. I can't wear it any tighter than that.
