The 5980 is discontinued so that one will be more interesting for collectors, I however (the poor student who only looks at pictures) would pick the 5205 because I love a classic dressy watch.

Don't know why 5205 is so popular in North America. In Asia, this model can stay unsold for months even with a high discount. In a grey market, you can easily find 5205 below 34k.

5980... but whatever happened to the two Pateks you were supposed to start wearing? I think one was to be opened at Xmas '13 and the other for your wedding in June '14?

that 5205 is the one that I like the least of all the 5205's so I would go 5980

5980..I really dislike that dark square above the 12 o'clock on this dial of the 5205. It is only noticable on this dial version of the 5205.
