Nautilus - which one? Seeking opinions!
Hey guys, you were so helpful for me (and others!) in my Aquanaut decision (painfully waiting for my 5167 to get in) --- I'd like to solicit feedback on a few Nautilus models I am considering. While I'm not sure I'm ready to buy today, I'm trying to figure out if I want the: 5711/1A or the 5726/1A.
Yes, it's a different price point - but I'm struggling with this. You are the experts - I'd love to hear your thoughts. Also, I think the 5726 is thicker than the 5711 - is it negligible? Thanks again! |

For me easy decision the 5711 1A with blue dial. Why? The 5726 is the one Nautilus I just don't care for. No disrespect to those who own it just not my taste nor style. The 5711 is classic Jumbo/Genta all the way.

If you're seriously considering a nautilus I would change your Aquanaut order to a 5164 and add a 5711.

I have the 5711 in blue and love it, easily my favorite watch. I would love to have a 5726 with white dial, especially if they ever make it on a leather strap. The 5726 is significantly thicker than the 5711, so you might want to try both on. Also, if you want to buy from an AD, you might want to get on a waiting list ASAP if you choose the 5711, as they aren't exactly easy to get.

5711 is 8.3
5726 is 11.6 5711 is the icon and looks simple and elegant. The thinness takes awhile to get use to, beautiful but not for me. The 5726 is more interesting; and you have the choice of leather strap or bracelet. I like the 5712R and the 5980 SS or RG. Good luck ![]()

Get 5711 or bump it up and get 5980.

The 5167 is great don't change anything, but if you want a Nautilus I would get one with complications, I got the 5712/1A, but I like the 5726, the 5711 is great but if you have 2 PP's seems to me at least one should have a few complications

Love the 5726 white dial and would much rather have it than the 5711. Thicker than a 5711 for sure but not so much as the 5980. Complications are extremely useful and well laid out! Winner for sure.

5711 blue dial. Do it with 0% hesitation, 100% confidence.

I'd get a Nautilus with complications - otherwise, you'll have two ~$20k stainless steel three-hand watches with date display. It would be nice to inject some variety into the Patek collection, methinks.
The 5980 is too chunky for my tastes, but if you're a big guy (as discussed in another thread), it might work for you. The 5712 has a funky layout whereas the 5726 is a bit more austere. I'm in the same boat as you and if I were to go with a Nautilus, I'd pick one of these two. Good luck! |

I really like both! And still thinking of 5711/a1 all the time
but got the 5726/1a as my daily beater. Makes sense to use as daily watch because it's practical with the day, date, month display.

Interesting...As I love the Nautilus line
If thickness is important it's gotta be 5980 blue dial (my all time favorite) or you can always press "pause" and wait for 5990 - which I'm guessing will have similar thickness to 5980 (obviously haven't handled 5990) If you want a buy and hold duo the 5711 and the 5164 would be pretty hard to beat in my book. Let us know what you land on! |

Your second PP should have a complication so I would pick 5712 or 5726, but I prefer the dial layout of the 5712. If you can make it a 5712R even better.

Nautilus - which one? Seeking opinions!
Try them if you can, I found the 5980 were too thick for me, didn't pass the cuff test. The 5712r was OK but looked a little 'flat' on my somewhat rounded wrist (that's pretty much true for all ultra thin watches on me). The white dial 5726 fit perfectly, the irony being that I was looking for a rose gold watch with a dark dial
The 5726 has the most useful complication as well

It's hard to beat the 5711. It's simple and beautiful.

I would choose 5726a on bracelet over a 5711a. 5726a and 5980a are both very handsome pieces.

I have to agree with Ken. Besides the 5711 is so thin that it wears like a glove. If you want a moon phase maybe a 5146 for a bit more? Good luck.

5711 blue dial over the 5726 for me..
however since you have the 5167 already, i would think of a 5712/1a - a true beauty with the moon phase complication. |

With an Aquanaut in the collection, I would be more inclined to add a Calatrava 5196 or 5119 to cover two spectrums in the Patek family.
I know many here feel it's perfectly fine to have a 5167 and a 5711 in the stable, but if you're adding a Nautilus to an Aquanaut definitely go 5726. |
