FTF transaction - better safe then sorry

I was selling a watch a week ago and a member with almost no posts contacted me via pm and asked about the watch and offered a FTF transaction.

I asked for his LinkedIn profile name and said I would email him to his account to verify identity. Never heard from him again.

Not sure if this was going to be a grab and run or whether the member just changed his mind but thought it would be good for others to think of ways to vet users before a FTF meeting.
