Icon20 what makes for a good rolex buying experience?

just the other day, when my brother was buying his first rolex (ss sub date) the AD offered him 24 months interest free credit...and advised him to keep his money in the bank to earn interest, which made for a good buying experience for him.

so the question is guys, what makes for a good rolex buying experience for you; is it the friendly service? is it getting a discount? is it availabilty? is it all these things? or is it something entirely different?

For me it's the friendly service, discounts and the moment I strap on the Rolex.

Cleavage

Seriously, I'm of the group that turns around and walks out when confronted with attitude from the sales person. Sometimes it's fun to bring in a watch bought elsewhere due to that reason and have the offending AD do some minor thing to it. Must drive them nuts.

Remember when Julia Roberts was the dressed down hooker and got no respect in Pretty Woman; then she went back dressed up with money??? Kinda like that.

#2 A friendly staff willing to anwser all of my questions

#3 A discount couldn't hurt!

A nice quiet, relaxed environment.
This certainly was not the case when I bought my LV. I bought it from a shop in an arcade called the Bullring in Birmingham. The place was crowded and noisy, a woman even ran into me with a push chair as I was sitting down trying on my intended purchase.
Then my mobile rang with my wife wondering where I was as we had guests coming round later in the day.
I reckon that all shops should have a quiet area where you can mull over the watch and be sure that you want to spend wads of money.
My next purchase will be from a shop in the same company but it is located in a more up market area.

The AD must deliver on ALL that they promise---before, during and after the sale. Promises made--promises kept.

Peter, have you visited the Rolex dealer in Lichfield?
Nice shop and staff, and nice city.

Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful staff. Willingness to put up with me as I am somewhat slow to pull the trigger even when I know I will. Discounts are nice. Nice environment where I receive the attention to make me feel comfortable without feeling pressure.

It all start with the anticipation of ownership, then the dealer if you leave the store with a warm fuzz feeling after laying down your hard earn cash. Finally the pride of ownership,
all of the afore mentioned in my humble opinion contribute the whole experience.

Your brother should make sure to pay his purchase off before the 24 months is up. If he goes over he could owe the interest. Just something to check on. Congrats to him on his new Sub.

I Know, I'm An Impossible Person

1) Absolutely pristine, untouched piece. Same for its box and papers. (I'm the kind of guy that buys motorcycles and cars with 0 miles on the odometer — impossible, impossible . . . .)

2) Exquisite service. (Pallie, at these prices, I don't care who you think you are, but you had better think that I'm someone.)

3) The deal is so good, some of the AD staff are left bleeding in the middle of the road. (I'm a little compulsive. I'll buy stuff I don't want just because I can't walk away from the deal.) (By the way, anybody need any Captain & Tennille on 8-track?)

A friendly patient salesperson who is happy to see you and talk to you about watches. A bit of a discount too as well as after sale service.

My buying experience was just perfect. There was my new GMTIIc resting in its case right below the very deep, tanned, cleavage of a smiling, beautiful sales manager!

So fine---

The excitement of going into buy it any discount you may get, the wearing of the watch for the 1st time.
But most of the excellent relationship that I have got with the manager at my AD.
I consider him now to be a personal friend.

Getting the best deal is my priority. I don't want to pay extra for a jeweler's rent, fittings, promotions, nice looking staff etc. Just give me down to earth, honest, no frills service any time.
For eye candy, I stay home.
