Rolex Daytona-Black or White in SS?

I have a couple of sport rolexes with black dials and am considering getting a Daytona for something different. I have seen both dials and like both, though White dial might be slightly easier to read. That said, I don't own a white dial but none available at my AD with no time line for getting one in. Does anyone know if one holds it's value more than the other for future trade in US? He will sell me the black dial one if I want it so just trying to determine which to get. thanks for your thoughts.

If it were me, I would go with white. As you wrote, it's easier to read, and you already have a couple of black dials.

Based on your collection, I would go white. Good luck.

Easier to read is white. Black is also very charming. Can't go wrong either way!

White dial. Something different for your collection, and u love a crisp, white, rolex dial.

I'm sure there are some on here. Or reach out to Dennis at Goldwatchco, I bought mine from him.

Black and white both awesome dials on the SS Dayt. As an addition to your collection I would try to find a white dial dayt since you already have a few black dial watches.

If it's an AD you order the white dial Daytona it arrives you buy it and you get what you want that is why there are Rolex AD's

That being said I prefer the black dial

X2. That's why I picked white. I also liked the black and red text on white dial better.

Daytona looks better with black. Legibility comments are accurate though.

Having owned both, agree with all of the above. The black dial's contrast does make it "pop". However, it is very difficult to read. The white dial is nice - not as striking as the black dial but still very nice - and is much more legible.

(For what it's worth, I sold the black dial and the white dial is still in the collection)

White dial. I was in a similar situation a few years ago when I was on he market for a SS Daytona. Went with he white dial as I had many black and dark coloured dials and not too many whites. Tough choice because the black dial is very sharp.
