580-585 end links
Please treat me gentle I am new to the vintage world. Having purchased three dive watches and reading so so much ,I was educated again last night it seams 1665 SD's came with 585 el ,But nearly every 1665 has had 580's fitted at sometime in there life.
I have just purchased a Great White and that has 580's .A 1680 with 580's The SD case is slightly thicker and I read this is what the 585's are allowing for, but end links can be tweaked to fit ,is this what everyone is doing fitting 580s and tweaking them ?. my first job this morning is to ring RSC St James and see if they have stock and get some ASAP. Would or could it be 580's are just for the thinner Sub Case ? Thank's |

Hey there,
The 580s will work fine for your 1665. That said, 585s are proper for the 1665. I do think that many 585s were replaced during service with 580s. Please note that do not need any adjustment. In fact I'd advise against messing with them. The 585 will match the curvature of the 1665 lug slightly better. That's it! Let me know if you have any more questions. Congrats on your your new 'dweller. Quote:
