Change of date wheel Day date 1803?

Hi guys.

I'm just curious, what is reasonable time for having a watchmaker just switching the date wheel to a new one on a daydate from 1966? (ref 1803)

All the best
Jakob

Depends how busy he is, I guess. Could be a day if he's got nothing else on. I'd think a week or two at most under normal circumstances, though.

Hmm okay. I had to wait almost eight weeks, I bought it in August, had to send it back under warranty from the seller, which is a well-known watch dealer in the U.S. because the date wheel wasn't functioning correct.

I had to send it back less than a month after I bought it and now got it back, fully functioning, last week.

I'm pretty new to the game so I don't know if 7-8 weeks is appropriate for a date wheel change. Maybe it's a complicated procedure?

The time to repair is generally not as important as the workload the watchmaker has.

What was the estimated time given when sent for repair?

It's when they get to it, not how long the job takes that is jamming things up...
