Need help identifying the year and value

My dad gave me this watch long time ago. He can't remember what year exactly he said around 1960's it has a very blurred serial no and all i can see is 799 and registered design on the other side. I love this watch the only thing i hate is that you have to wind it every 2 days. Thanks

You should be winding it every day... That's what you do with a manual wind watch..

It's a model 6694, probably from the early 70's.

I enjoy my manual wind watches, I do it before bedtime each night like a ritual.

First off, nice watch! Your very lucky to have a passed down family piece like that. Dont ever sell it, you will regret it for one it looks all original & its from your pops.

It looks to be a 6694 or a 6494. People here dont really like when people only sign up to value their watch so try to be a part of the community even if you dont know much about watches try to chime in on others post with a compliment.

I would suggest you find a local watch tech not rolex service center & get it cleaned & oiled, your watch has a 1215 or 1225 hand wind movement, it should be wound daily at the same time if possible, such as in the morning. I personally love hand winds, it feels more like you make the watch part of your day each day, it needs you & you need it. They are great movements, will run forever with a little tlc put into them, should only cost around $300 to service it & dont ever change or refinish your dial.

I hate to offer values as you can figure that out for yourself & being its passed down it should be priceless to you but for a monetary value I would say $1500-$2000

Nice watch enjoy it & pass it down to your kids, it will outlast them even

Thanks for the info everyone. Will wind her daily. I think my dad had it serviced and cleaned at rolex service center. Nice to know the model and value of the watch. Will be keeping it forever and pass it to my kids as well. I also got a 1977 sea dweller greatwhite 1665 that needs service and cleaning. Im new to rolex world and still researching about the different abbreviations and codes haha. Will surely be part of this great community!
