Welcome to TRF!
Congrats on getting the DJ! Best thing is to have it serviced about every 5th. year or so. Cost is around 500 US $. After service, your watch will look as new again. It's good advice to wash your Rolex say once a week in lukewarm water, using a mild liquid handwashing soap. This will keep dirt and grime away from the case and bracelets links, preventing scratches and tear to the links of the bracelet. Be sure that the crown is fully screwed down before washing the watch. Also, best thing is to wear the watch fairly snug on your wrist so that you can just put your little finger under the clasp. This is a comfortable fit for most wearers and prevents the watch from sliding up and down your wrist all the time, resulting in stressing the bracelet links. Especially the TT Jubilee bracelet (old style) of the DJ is proned to stretching issues if not taken well care of. Please post a pic of the actual watch when you get it.

Thanks for the reply.
Attached picture is what my watch look like. (Found this picture in forum) What model is this? Sorry if this sound stupid, but as i read through this forum I noticed TT, SS is familiar words to tag along datejust. On my paper, it apperar as - Rolex Boy Star Datejust. Any idea how much is the current value? Thanks |

My first Rolex was a Datejust. I mean in my opinion the DJ or the SS Sub is the perfect first Rolex. Mine was a 1603 Oyster bracelet and silver dial. 1977 model. There is a pic of it on the "gift from granpa
thread". |

Hey welcome to the forum !!
Your datejust is SWEET, Classic, TT refers to Two Tone, (as in stainless steel (SS) and gold), the model number will be 16233 or 116233 depending on the age of the watch. a full SS will be model 16200 or 116200 if it's a newer model. hope this helps, there are for sure people here who can answer any questions you have ! Price ranges 3,000-4,000 for an older watch and increaseing in price as you get newer, but brand new from a dealer as of 2008 it's $8700.00 !!!! |

Looks great! My first and only Rolex was and is a two tone datejust, champange dial with diamonds. I would like to add a GMT II to my collection. Wear yours in good health.
