Icon20 What do you use to travel with your AP ROO 44mm?

Still honeymooning with my AP ROO 44mm

I'm used to slipping my watches into a flat travel pouch for airports etc. However, the ROO doesn't fold in on itself, so a pouch just ain't going to cut it, unless it's huge. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what is generally used.

Thanks

I usually put my ROO in a folding watch travel case and slip it in my hand luggage.

This a a Phase de Lune travel case, not cheap but real quality

Awesome watch!!!! Those watch rolls are fantastic!! I normally keep my APs and gold pieces in one and then in a lockable carry on bag. The nice part about these rolls are they accommodate larger sized watches. You can also use a 3 watch roll with a gold piece on either end and the center empty to ensure no watch comes in contact with each other. I use a no name brand and it has served me very well.

I just wear mine. Don't take multiple watches while traveling.

When I travel with my AP, I use the service box that AP gives you when you have it serviced, a very nice brown leather trim nice quality box.

Are you familiar with this?

When you bring in your watch for 3rd year extended warranty they should return it to you in one, a perfect travel box.

thanks guys - but I always get nailed by security at airports and they ask me to go back and remove my watch - so instead of the confrontation I now pack it before I go through. That was my intention with the question, not that I want to take multiple watches.

Short trip is just one on the wrist. For longer vacations its one on my wrist and keep a 2nd in an AP single watch travel case like this one.

I am exactly like you, because I like to travel with a watch on my writs and the 2nd one in my lockable handbag and use the AP cases I received as a present from my AD to protect them. And when going through the security scan, I always remove my watch and place it in its case to avoid going back and forth through the scanner.

I do not have the pictures of my protective travel cases with me right now, but this is what I found online and I have exactly the same as well. Except that instead of having it in the brown smooth leather I have it in a black smooth leather. Of the two AP cases I own, the black leather one is much nicer, but takes up a lot more space as well. So depending on the trip I decide which one to take along.

Mate, that watch looks awesome on your wrist. Never seen one look so good! Can I ask what your wrist size is? I wish I could pull that off :/

Safe/cheap route? Oakley large watch vault:

Easily fits the Diver and my NSA which are two of my larger watches. I have a nice leather travel roll from Suit Supply that I use for taking two watches plus it'll hold a microfiber cloth.

Hopefully I can sweet talk my AD into a freebie - the brown AP case is awesome. But ooohhh that Smythson role is just WOW.

I didn't realise that Oakley did a watch case. For a way of protecting my watch as I sneak it into my hand luggage before going through security, it may be exactly what I need.

Thanks Mr Byrnedogs (interesting handle) re the wrist shot. I have a regular 7" wrist - well actually it's 18cms for us metric guys in Europa Land and if my maths is correct - 18cms/2.54 = 7.09" - Bingo. Obviously the perfect size for an AP ROO 44mm :-)

got the same smythson with my initials on it as a gift from the wife last year. Like it a lot, a bit snug with the offshore in it tho.
