And so it begins...

My son went to his first formal last night. He has never worn a watch or wanted to. As he is headed out the door to pick up his date, in his rented tux, I say "Hey, wait, put this on." I cringed watching him struggle with the strap. You would have thought I'd ask him to perform open heart surgery. He calls me an hour latter and says "hey, I think I'm starting to get the whole watch thing...it's like having a machine on your wrist." Tonight he text me photos of an Explorer and says,"Dad, saw this watch today and can't stop thinking about it. Am I weird?" And so it begins.

Gives you a hobby to share with your son, that's awesome!

The younger generation still has a chance; all hope is not lost yet
Hopefully, the new Apple Watch will also inspire people to wear nice watches.

Great moment. The best thing about it is the simplicity of that piece and that a teenager likes the size/simplicity. I own an Orion with a date and it is a magnificent watch.

Cool story. I was in church a few weeks ago and my 6 yr old son looked at the pamphlet and said, "Look, daddy Patak". Someone's last name is Patak but he pointed it out since he is a budding WIS.

Did I break some TRF rule? My photo in the original post has been removed. It has been replaced with beer mugs.

Love it. I'm trying to influence my son even earlier! That was taken when he was 4.

It took a while but my son now wears a Swatch Sistem 51 daily. Now he wants a Patek. Precocious but I couldn't be happier.

Great story.

My dad started this thing for me when gave me his 31mm Datejust for my 13th birthday, my son will be born shortly and history will repeat itself.
