Icon5 Submariner Ceramic?

Does anyone know if the Submariner will be released with the new style ceramic bezel in the near future and when?

Are you only referring to the SS Sub..

For Basel this year, the Sub is being released in Ceramic.

Both the Solid yellow gold and a new White gold version. With either Black Ceramic Bezel or a new Blue Ceramic Bezel.

So, if the release timing is the same as the GMT..........This year the solid gold, next year the TT versions, and then finally the Stainless Steel..

So, we're looking at Ceramic Stainless Steel Subs in 3 years.... maybe sooner.

Does fab = fabulous? I only ask because fabulous is the last descriptive term that comes to mind when I think of the baby blue WG Ceramic sub. Now if fab = hideous then I comletely agree

I guess the Basel pics of WG Ceramic Blue sub I saw didn't give an accurate representation of the watch. The horrid baby blue killed it for me & I actually thought it looked like a Folex, lol. I only hope that they don't use that blue to "update" the traditional TT Blue sub.

Of course you mean a new SS Sub right? There are NEW YG/WG models being made now.

Welcome to TRF!

As usual, only Rolex knows, but here is my theory:
  1. The GMT IIc in YG ("Anniversary", Green dial) was introduced in 2005.
  2. The TT GMT IIc came a year later, in 2006.
  3. The SS version came in 2007, and the old GMT was discontinued.

Now we got an updated Sub Date in YG this year, in 2008.

So my theory is that we will see at TT version in 2009.

And an updated SS Sub Date in 2010.
