I thought the dial on this Daytona was odd...

Currently on eBay is this Daytona (18 hrs left):

Sure looks like a white gold Daytona, but the description is as follows:

"Absolutely Stunning brilliant Rolex Factory Silver Arabic Dial! This is the Rolex Men's Daytona - Rolex model 116520 40mm size Stainless Daytona: This is the style with heavy Genuine Rolex Stainless Steel bracelet. To replace this Rolex has an estimated MSRP of $12,995. This Rolex is in pristine condition...Priced to sell immediately!

And that is the asking price. Do you think they replaced the dial of a stainless steel watch with one from a white gold watch?

Would anyone buy this?

Yup you are right and yes people still buy them, it IS a Rolex factory dial for a white gold watch put on SS watch

I wouldn't buy it and for that matter wouldnt buy anything that expensive on ebay

But it does look cool and some members here have done it and for that matter that could be someone from this forums watch!

I wouldn't buy it either... you don't know if the work was done properly to substitute the dial...

So count me out.

Wouldn't get it from eBay I do like the idea and would arrange it with people that I trust if I was in the market for a Daytona.

There is no way I would buy a stainless steel Daytona with a bezel that is only offered on a white gold Daytona. There is nothing like the feeling of white gold on your wrist and the feeling of accomplishment in saving up to get one if that is the feel and dial that you want.

Love that dial and the black racing dial in the white gold models.
