Dressy Daytona???

We have debated here in the past about how dressy or sporty the Daytona can be. I think the SS with polished centers can look very dressy (especially with the black dial). As I posted here last week, I finally found the slate-dialed TT Daytona that I was so obsessed with and I am loving it. I have been an 100% all-stainless Rolex guy in the past and this watch is a departure for me. I can now report that I am enjoying this bit of sporty bling. Here are a couple of shots I took today with a dress shirt:

As I tried to explain in another post; the Daytona is all about balance. It is a busy watch. If your watch with that dail had a SS bracelet, I would not like it. It just would not look right. Your dial compliments the SS in the bracelet; while the gold bezel works perfectly with the gold in the bracelet. Your watch can be dressy or jeans and beer because it has balance. I have seen more ulgy Daytonas than any other Rolex. The reason the SS Daytona works so well is that it does not clash with the dial choices. Bet I will get a little grief with that last remark.

The watch looks great to me. Funny thing about Rolex is even the more "Sporty" models still have perfect balance and normally can fit nearly any setting. Will look good if your in jeans and a T-Shirt also in a shirt and tie, so your set I say

The TT slate dial Daytona is a beautiful looking timepiece, it was actually the Daytona I was ready to pull the trigger on.
Instead I received a phone call asking if I still wanted a S/S Daytona.

That is a great looking watch. The slate face looks incredible. Most Rolex's look good in just about any situation, so no worries about being able to pull this off as dressy. It is a fabulous watch.

Let's face it. The Daytona is a beautiful watch in nearly any configuration (except leopard )
Seriously it's a nice watch.

A SS Submariner will go with ANYTHING and make it look better, from jeans to a Tux.

Nice Daytona, I like the TT and think it looks great. I would have got one but I don't have the extra 5K to shell out.

Looks great!!! Many of the Rolex models can be dressed up or down, that is why I really love to own them. No reason to buy one dress watch and one casual watch when you can buy one Rolex that will easily act as both.

That is a real beauty, Wally! The slate dial looks as though it would be so much easier to read than white or black. Just enough contrast to make the hands stand out. You're a lucky man!
