Brushed finish on SmP

I made the mistake of asking an AD to change my strap. He came back two minutes later proudly saying he had polished my watch (which did not need polishing). He polished part of my strap to a mirror finish - I've fixed that. But I've just noticed one of the sides is polished at the lug end. Does anyone know what grade of abrasion Omega use on the sides of their SmP?

That is a shame. Sadly I am not so sure of what is used there but members of this forum have done amazing jobs on their own braceslits. If no one gives you an answer you can always make a few phone calls but not sure how successful that would be. Do you have pictures by any chance?

Well, amazingly I fixed it. I rubbed very straight lines with a scotchbrite and then used a Cape Cod cloth to repolish the accent. I won't be using that A.D. again. From now on I'll change my own straps and do my own touch ups. I need to get a Bergeon 5444 abrasive block.

You know that is an excellent skill to have, to be able to refresh the braceslit between services. Yes I would not go back there either if I was in your shoes..... Would love to see it thought so if you can or want to please post some pictures.

Get one of the fibre pencils for small touch-up's..

Scotch-Brite pads are the best with the least amount of metal removal to get that lightly grained look.......

It's not perfect but it's close enough.
