I have been wanting a Seiko in my rotation for a while now but could not decide which model I liked best. Seiko makes so many great watches to choose from.

Well, my choice arrived yesterday!

I'm super excited to share with you all which watch caught my eye:

I immediately had to take the bracelet off (stickers still on). This watch is perfect for a NATO.

Luckily, I ordered a fresh batch of NATOs this past week. There was one that was perfect:

Best part of sunlight? Wicked Lume:

The Seiko "Field Monster" SRP443 is one fantastic watch and I'm glad you could all share in my joy. Relatively cheap price but has a great, durable and quality feel to it.

Shout outs to the Nylon Nation, my friends Dan Pierce and Bas (SearChart) for being such amazing Enablers! Hope to be one also one day.

I had a huge collection of Seiko and Citizen watches I had to sell for my wife to let me get the Rolex lol.

Thank you very much Sir! It is a fun watch that has received some positive comments already from strangers. I'm super content and really enjoying playing around with NATO/Zulu choices for the Monster.

Congrats! Aren't they amazing bang for the buck?

I'm looking at some right now (always really) and leaning toward a first gen diver 6217-8000/8001 model. Hard to find a decent one for reasonable money, but also the new ProSpex models are fantastic. Fit and finish are world class for a sub-$1000 watch.

Others that have caught my eye:

SKZ329J1 (black PVD coated)
SBDC029 Solid Titanium and bomb-proof.
SKX007J / SKX009J The "small block chevy" of dive watches. I don't think there is better value in a DIN approved automatic (in-house movement) dive watch on the planet.

No, 7Sxx has been discontinued a while now, iirc.
It’s a relatively new movement, the 4R35.

WOW, I love all those references.

I've got my eye on the "Field Tuna" (SBDC011)

Seiko is probably the best bang for you buck watch out there. I've always loved them and there's just something about the amount of fun that they bring! My father's watch of choice was his Seiko and I've admired the brand ever since I was a little boy.

Please post pix if and WHEN you get that 6217-8000/8001! Can't wait for those pix!

Yup, the movement is the 4R35. As expected, works pretty good so far! Can't complain.
