Hi,

Mate.... that dial makes me real nervous Never seen or heard of any paint comming off around the hour markers like that..... ever

Personally, I think you can do better with the money, by the time you get it back from service, and charged for a new dial , you could of bought a much later model Blue Sub, in great condition.

But, If you have some sentimental reason why you would want this particular transitional model, which is cool . I would'nt hand over a cent unless the seller would kindly meet me at an AD for proper varification, franken watches aren't worth the trouble .

Hope this is of some help.

Rob

Hi,

It's Back!

Here's my theory ,

Remember the pic of the SD that looked like it was in a motorbike accident ?
Well, the force of the impact knocked the hour markers clean off the dial !

When you look at the large picture, have a look how the right hand lugs are much thinner than the others on the lefthand side. Man.....a lot of metal is missing . As a hunch, I would say that this particular watch has had a very BAD knock, or the watch has actually left the owners wrist, and has hit something very hard, that has, inturn knocked the hour markers off, taking a little paint with them .

I would say if you took this watch to an AD, they would at least want to replace the case, dial and one would imagine some internals like anti shock etc..... This would scare off nearly all owners, unless there was some significant sentimental value .

So, off it goes to the regular watch doctor, with instuctions to just fix it best you can .

Hence, it looks like a genuine Sub, just a wounded one.

Rob.

....I am NOW inclined to agree with you. It is a shame that the pic's are not any better than they are.

....The seller offers the buyer a one on one local pick-up AND validation at an AD. Of course that eliminates most of us here in the US and many other buyers around the world.

They removed the listing but he has now re-listed it so they are taking our reporting seriously and quickly in Australia. He seems like he is out to prove that it is genuine and will do the deal at a dealer for authenticity purposes so I am inclined to say it is genuine.
